Short Biography:
Olesia Shewchuk is an award-winning director and actress in Vancouver, Canada. Her film Mime Vs. Junkie won Best Universal Language Film at the Cambofest 2009 and a Rising Star Film Award at the Canadian International Film Festival 2010. She has been part of over 50 short film and 3 feature film teams as director, actor, cinematographer (8mm, 16mm, digital), producer, editor, or composer. Select theatre roles include Sasha in Ivanov, Lizzie in The Rainmaker, Marcy in Ravenscroft, Brenda in Four Dogs and a Bone, and Elena Popova in The Bear, and will be appearing as a Slavic ballet instructor in the feature film, Lost and Found (Lamarque Film). She graduated from the Seattle Film Institute Production Program, and has an honours degree in chemical physics from the University of Winnipeg.
