The Gangrene Film Festival celebrated its 10th installment, with The Gangrene Film Festival: 10-Gallon Hat. The show proved to be a boot-stompin', knife throwing, whip-cracking hootenanny. Directors visited from as far as London, England, Vancouver and Toronto Canada, and as close as Provo, Utah, to watch their films with a larger than ever crowd at the Ed Kenley Amphitheater.

Before the show, as fans entered the Amphitheater, the Golden Years Jazz Band serenaded them, fully clad in matching hats and neckerchiefs, with the golden olies. Hey, who can do anything but smile while, the Baby Elephant Walk is being played.

As the GYJB wrapped up their set, Gangrene invited to the stage, the world champion gun spinning, whip-cracking, knife-throwing cowboy: The Rhinestone Roper.

The audience was amazed as the Roper threw knives at his lovely assistant as she rotated on a spinning platform.

They gasped as he threw water balloons over the crowd and blew them away from the hip with his Winchester rifle. They laughed as he sang a few cowboy songs and humiliated a handful of crowd volunteers.

The film festival showcased a new crop of hilarious short films from all over the world, including: Punch Drunk, from London England, Room Mates, from Toronto Canada, and The Pirate, from Puerto Rico.

William Rubio took home the General Audience session audience choice award with his film, Mom, Dad, I'm Cuban. The Late Session audience choice award went to Nathan Fleet for his air guitar comedy, Air Knob.

Just when the audience thought Gangrene had run out of surprises, the tapping grannies, and all post 90-year-old elderly tap dancing group, hit the stage with their high-kicking version of Boot Scootin' Boogie.

The Gangrene Film Festival: 10-Gallon Hat left the audience smiling and wondering just what the Gangrene boys have in store for the 11th installment of their film festival.
