Mari Machado is dancing in the bathroom when her date knocks on the front door. Her father, Mr. Machado is outraged to discover that his only daughter is about to leave with a man she met on the internet. He insists that he chaperone the outing. Facing the idea of a date with her father, Mari suspiciously changes her plans and explains she is going to church. Mr. Machado is not satisfied and receives the surprise visitor himself. As it turns out, his youngest son has answered the front door. Wilbert, a tall man with a powerful moustache and an ostentatious white eye-patch, smiles as he offers to shake Mr. Machado’s hand. Offended by Wilbert’s shady appearance, Mr. Machado slams the door in his face. Meanwhile, Mari decides to escape through the bathroom window. While sneaking through the back patio, Mari hears her psychotic father draw a sword from his bedroom. In defense of his daughters honor, Mr. Machado cuts the air with his sword and lunges forward. In response, Mari screams through the bedroom window, “But, I love him!” Mr. Machado loses control. Mari’s mother restrains Mr. Machado in an attempt to stop the massacre. Taking advantage of the confusion, Mari runs frantically towards Wilbert, who is about to leave in his car, rejected. Right when the lovers are convinced of a safe escape, they witness the extent Mari’s father will take to stop this date.
