Lewis Hogan was once the most glorious competitive eater in the universe. Winner of 23 Golden Bibs, Lewis vanished in shame 15 years ago, at the peak of his career, following a disastrous eating accident at the Arlington Gran Prix.
Now content to live out his days with his beloved wife away from the limelight, Lewis nonetheless feels a void in his gut where his passion once churned. His old pal Ron rouses Lewis's feelings of longing during a casual meal at a restaurant. And it's during this meal that Lewis discovers a young man with unbelievable potential packing it in across the room ...
Lewis tracks the young prospect, Jay, to his job at an auto shop. 'You cram a lot in your mouth, son,' Lewis says. Jay initially resists, assuming that Lewis is some kind of pervert, but Lewis is very convincing. Lewis takes Jay under his wing, training the youngster for an upcoming competition, introducing Jay to the world of eating, and wrestling with demons from his own past -- as well as his dreams for the future -- all the while.
