Content Rules and Guidelines:

	Entries must be comedy shorts under 15 minutes in length. We are looking for movies with a G to PG13 rating. No excessive profanity. No nudity or sexual material please. Violent material will only be considered if it has a comedic tone. Entries must be submitted in one of the following formats: BetaSP, VHS, DVD or MiniDV. Although we do show amateur work, all films need to have a great concept that adds to the mood of the Gangrene Film Festival. We aren’t looking for home movies or travelogues. We reserve the right to reject any entry for any reason. We will not provide an explanation for the reason of rejection. Entry form must be completed and included with entry. All entries must be postage dated at or before the intended deadline to qualify for respective entry fees.

YOU CAN HAVE 5-SECONDS OF FAME

	Have you ever tried to tell a story in 5 seconds? It's difficult. We challenge you to do it. And if it's funny, we will showcase it in front of our large audience. New to The GANGRENE Film Festival in 2008 is the 5-second film reel. We will play a compilation of hilarious 5-second films back to back in the General Audience Session. Even if you are already planning on submitting a larger project to GANGRENE, We invite you to submit your 5-second comedy short to us. If you have never made a 5-second film, you may find it more difficult than expected. It's tricky to tell a story in such a short period of time. ENTER YOUR 5-SECOND FILM FOR FREE There will be NO ENTRY FEE for 5-second film submissions. You may submit a 5-second film even if you plan to enter other work into the festival; dual entries will not penalized in any way. We expect to play 10 to 20 5-second films in one swoop, so if your 5-second film is funny, you have a good chance of getting it into the show. HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR 5-SECOND FILM You are allowed 3 seconds for the title of your film/director name, then only 5-seconds for your narrative. To maintain rapid flow of the 5-second film reel, credits must be cut from the end of your film--that is if you have bothered with them in the first place. We will credit your 5-second film on our web site if you wish. Our comedian host will announce your name at the beginning or end of the 5-second film reel live at the event. We will comp you a couple of VIP tickets to the event if your film makes the cut. We cannot offer a paid hotel room as we do for our featured short film directors, but we'd be glad to cover your tab at our GANGRENE Film Festival dinner out. Submission is easy; just upload your film along with a .txt file with your film details (more info below) to our ftp site or send it to us using www.yousendit.com. Please name your film and your txt file with the following convention: Filmname_INFO.txt Filmname_FILM.mov We would prefer your film to be a Quicktime movie with one of the following codecs: Uncompressed 8-bit 4:2:2 DV/DVCPRO - NTSC Animation For your audio, please use Linear PCM, 44,100 kHz, 16-bit. Please include the following info and format in your txt file: Movie Title - Name - (your full name) Address - City - State - Phone - Cell - Web Address - Email Address - When your 2 files, txt and mov, are ready, you may upload them to the following FTP site as an anonymous user: host: mediarif.com username: anonymous@mediarif.com password: [just leave blank] Upload your files to the INCOMING folder. You may also use www.yousendit.com to send your film and txt files. Just zip your two files together and send them to craignybo@gangreneproductions.com. www.yousendit.com is a free service that allows you to transfer large files (up to 100 mb) to a receiving email address. All 5-second films are due by July 20, 2008.
